Deques is an American Rockstar Drummer who spends some of his time playing the world's most popular card game: Millennium Blades! Being the musician that he is, Deques finds it fun to express himself in everything he does, even in card games! Not one to shy away from crazy, innovative strategies, Deques is sure to surprise everyone during tournaments!

Deques is meant to embody the stereotypical "Johnny" gamer. He tends to make whacky and creative decks that many other players tend to not want to use. It's not only important for Deques to win the tournament, he has to win it his way.

Also, his name is a pun on "Decks a Plenty."

Game-Play

Deques is a tournament-focused character who wins by bringing decks that no one else would even dare try to use! His unique powers allow him to make use of cards and strategies that other players might deem impossible or too awkward.

Accessorize

A large part of Deques' ability to play odds strategies come from his Deckbuilding powers. They allow him to bring an extra deck box and an extra accessory into tournaments. This gives him a large amount of flexibility with regards to his choice of deck, as he can score using 2 boxes instead of one. However, this power is only useful if he has the equipment to back it up! Prioritize getting those extra accessories and deck boxes by drafting a lot of cards from the shop. It may be expensive, but it's worth the investment!

Keep Those Starters

While many other players are quick to discard their starter deck for an immediate bank on collection points, Deques has the option to keep his starter deck instead. Given the nature of his abilities, the super synergistic cards in starter decks can prove useful for fueling his other strategies. This is not to say that Deques shouldn't attempt to make collections. Simply put, think twice before banishing your cards to the collector's dark realm.

Trading Power

One thing newer players might not understand is how extremely important trading is for a character like Deques. While buying your way to the perfect deck is a valid strategy, it's a strategy that often puts one in a poor position. This is why, instead of sifting through the whole deck to find the boxes and accessories you want, you should let your opponents do the dirty work for you! Once they've found a box you want, simply trade for it. Just be ready to give some friendship to sweeten the pot.
